Zachary Knowles’ latest track is a personal, emotive track that wanders from emotive acoustic guitar balladry, into hook-laden pop. ‘Johnny And June’ is simple for a reason – it’s all in the lyrics. ‘Let’s write a story about me and you’ sings Knowles lovingly before diving headfirst into bouncy vocalisations that work perfectly over the bopping accompaniment. It must be frustrating to release such danceable music at this time, because I can imagine a venue filled with fans chanting along to this cut. -Dan Peeke
